Leonardo teacher

“Leonardo and the copy of Mona Lisa. New approaches to the practice of the Vincian workshop” is an exhibition on view at the Museo del Prado until 23 January next year.

Curated by Ana González Mozo, the exhibition summarises the research results that the Museo del Prado has been able to develop in recent years on the working methods in da Vinci’s workshop, in collaboration with the Louvre, the Laboratory for Molecular Archeology of the Sorbonne and the National Gallery in London.

The exhibition is made up of a group of works painted by Leonardo da Vinci’s disciples and followers, to show the public the results of the latest studies dedicated to the artist’s closest circle and at the same time reflect on the methods of teaching and producing paintings in the Italian workshops during the transition from the 15th to the 16th century.
