Manuel Arias new curator of sculpture at the Museo del Prado

 

 

Manuel Arias has been appointed curator of sculpture at the Museo del Prado.

The former deputy director of the Museo de Escultura de Valladolid will take up his new post on 1 June.

He holds a PhD in Art History and has been a member of the Faculty of Curators since 1992. He has also been a full member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Valladolid since 2008. He has focused his studies on Renaissance and Baroque sculpture, with special attention to Juan de Juni and Alonso Berruguete, among others.
