Another work to highlight is this triptych by Fernando Gallego “La Virgen de la humildad”, which was auctioned at Leo Spik, Berlin. It had a starting price of 90,000 euros and was auctioned off for 529,760 euros.
The small size of the triptych (67 x 91 cm.) makes one think that it was a triptych for a portable altar, probably for travel. The fact that the back of the side panels was not painted reinforces the idea. It is a very singular piece since there are almost no examples of altars of these characteristics in the Hispanic painting of the 15th century.
