The Foundation María Cristina Masaveu Peterson presents its new headquarters in Madrid
On 4th October, the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson opened its new headquarters in Madrid (Alcalá Galiano 6), right in the centre of the capital and close to the Paseo del Arte. From that same day until 5th January 2020 access will be completely free of charge.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the foundation presents the exhibition “Masaveu Collection. 19th century Spanish painting. From Goya to Modernism”, which includes a selection of 117 works from one of the most interesting nuclei of its wide and varied collection: the Spanish painting from that period.
An exhibition that allows us to notice the richness and variety of the paintings gathered and to show the evolution that took place in art throughout that century trhough its most outstanding Spanish painters: Francisco de Goya, Federico de Madrazo, Eduardo Rosales, Mariano Fortuny, Martín Rico, Aureliano de Beruete, Carlos de Haes, Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor, Joaquín Sorolla (present with 25 artworks), Ignacio de Zuloaga, Darío de Regoyos (with the last work he painted), Ramón Casas, Santiago Rusiñol, Isidro Nonell or Hermén Anglada Camarasa, among others.
